Company History
In 2008, Pearlstine’s Cleaning LLC was founded in Jacksonville, Florida. Prior to launching, founder Derek Gregory Stays spent 7 years in the US Army, over 10 years in Law Enforcement, and was a 9/11 first responder before settling in Jacksonville, Florida where most of his family’s roots lie.
While working a full and part-time job, he found that he preferred his part-time employment as a crime scene cleaner. After a year of solo residential cleaning, he still had no business name. He decided it was the right time to make the leap into the world of entrepreneurialism, and Pearlstine’s Cleaning LLC was born.
From the inception of the company with only a handful of residential clients, Derek believed Pearlstine’s Cleaning could be more than just a side business. In under two years, Pearlstine’s entered the commercial cleaning market. His previous cleaning experience combined with his new experience helped him learn a quicker and more efficient method of getting the job done. He became so adept at cleaning, that he trained his entire first staff himself.
Fast forward to today, Pearlstine’s has 14 employees, 27 consistent clients, and 6 commercial accounts.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys researching the latest cleaning practices and technologies in the industry. He also maintains a proactive roll in his Radiant Home Initiative.

The Story behind The Name
Our company’s name is heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary legacy of Pearlstine Prister, a remarkable individual whose influence runs deep in our roots. As the grandson of this distinguished man, I am proud to share a brief history of our company’s namesake.
Pearlstine Prister, a brave WWII veteran, displayed unwavering courage and dedication to serving his country. Following his honorable discharge, he embarked on a new chapter in his life, joining the workforce at a Jacksonville shipyard for an impressive span of 25 years.
Tragically, his journey was cut short by a heart attack that led to his untimely passing. However, the values he instilled in his family and the community live on through us. His tireless work ethic and profound respect for others has been passed down through the generations, shaping the foundation of Pearlstine’s Cleaning.

We treat our clients as we would our extended family. We take care of their cleaning needs just as we would our own. We are NOT a franchise. We are a Jacksonville, Florida-based, owned and operated business.
